Despite the barren nature of these over-grazed and over-used lands, where the soil has got compacted due to the movement of trucks carrying bajri and rock, the area area Bhatti and Fatehpur Beri has seen a sudden ramp up in land prices. The presence of Guruji ashram and Radha Soami Satsang Beas, two religious sects, has added to the visitation in the area and kept the land pressure and pricing sky-high. The soil is still arable where there is adequate irrigation from ground water sources. Farm-houses of Delhi city residents abound in the area... Some amount of illegal commercial activity also continues unchecked.
