An indigent Indian woman cooks food on a roadside in Delhi: Desperation of poverty in winter-time north India. She has her pots and pans prepared and ready to cook up the day's meal, for her family, sitting between parked cars and a busy road with much traffic running on it... A neighbouring woman stands wrapper in her shawl and keeps her company. She seems to be using plyboard thrown out from an office renovation perhaps, as her cooking fuel, with the fumes and vapours that come from burning ply. At any rate, the chulha she has made also warms her hands. a destitute house on a Delhi road-side acts as a winter shelter for the poor and homeless.
