From the archive record

Indian Navy sailors march in formation along Kartavya Path in New Delhi during a rehearsal for the Republic Day Parade. The personnel wear winter service uniforms with dark navy trousers, black sweaters, white peak caps and white gaiters, with service rifles slung over their shoulders. India Gate stands prominently in the background, with the Canopy visible behind the memorial. Barricades, trees and other marching columns line the parade route as the sailors practise their drill.
