The four-lane Ashram underpass was finally thrown open to the public on Sunday. At the inauguration, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said the structure is expected to help reduce 3.6 tonnes of CO2 emissions and cut fuel usage by 1,550 litres a day. Ashram Chowk sees about 2.5 lakh-3 lakh vehicles a day during peak hours.
