Gaurav Mazumdar says "I have brought together two different genres of music but I don't call it fusion as the term that I use is compositional contemporary work. Since Indian classical and western classical are a mammoth in themselves that it becomes difficult to fuse both due to which I don't refer to it as fusion." One of the most sought-after and versatile musicians today, Gaurav Mazumdar hails from a family of well-known musicians of Allahabad (India). His early career in music began with vocal music followed by the violin, under the tutelage of his father Dulal Mazumdar and Guru Pt. Nandkishore Vishwakarma. The legendary maestro, Pt.
