A ritual of the traditional Chhath Puja- Indian devotees are seen rolling on the sand as a part of their tribute to the Sun god and their sister. Devotees usually perform the prostration march as part of their prayer to the Chaathi Maiya for the well-being and prosperity of their family. Chhath is an ancient Hindu Vedic festival historically native to the Indian subcontinent, more specifically, the Indian states of Bihar, Jharkhand, and Uttar Pradesh as well as the Madhesh region of Nepal. It is believed that the ritual of Chhath puja may date back to the ancient Vedic texts, as the Rigveda contains hymns worshipping the Sun god and describes similar rituals. The rituals also find a reference in the Sanskrit epic poem Mahābhārata in which Draupadi is depicted as observing similar rites. In
