Bhutan has emerged as a single political entity with the Arrival of Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal in 1616. But the Wangchuck dynasty began with the coronation of King Ugyen Wangchuck as King of Bhutan in 1907. He was followed by King JIgme Wangchuck in 1926 and then by JIgme Dorji Wangchuck in 1952. JIgme Singye was the only son of the five children born to the late majesty Jigme Dorji and his Queen Azhi Choden. Jigme Singye took over as monarch in 1972 a His official coronation took place 2 years later. For many Buddhists, the prayer wheel also represents the Wheel of the Law set in motion by the Buddha. Prayer wheels here are made of Wood, metal and has been painted beautifully in different colours. Prayer wheels come in many sizes: they may be small and attached to a stick, and spun ar
