Rare filming of Common Tailorbird nest with chicks, feeding and nest hygiene behaviour, in Delhi

A nest with three chicks is filmed inside a mango tree foliage at our Wilderness Orchard in New Delhi. With their beaks gaping open in hunger, a parent drops by with food. The parent comes back with flies and spiders to the hungry beaks of the hatchlings. 0: 32 Watch Out for a chick passing the white 'Faecal sac' straight from it's behind to the parent's beak and the parent flying away to discard it. The parent will also pick up the faecal sac if present in the nest and dispose it off. This is to maintain nest hygiene and minimise parasites as well as smell which can be detected by predators. As one can see, the nest is insulated with grass and animal hair and feathers. Notice the rivets or in simpler terms stitches on the mango leaves where it serves as the bolt holding the leaves in the
