Decrepit trams run on the streets of Calcutta (yes, it was still Calcutta and not Kolkata in the 1980's!), a dead body is taken for cremation on a bier, by a crowd of people. A policeman directs traffic while a visibly older city goes about its task of living. The Howrah bridge can be seen in the backdrop!
