Saint Maurice Church - The Oldest Church in Annecy, France

Église Saint-Maurice, or St. Maurice Church, is a Roman Catholic church in Annecy, France, with a Gothic architectural style and intricate stained-glass windows. It was originally built as a chapel of a Dominican convent in 1422 and construction was completed in the early 16th century. The construction of the church was primarily financed by, and became an important place of worship for guilds and families whose arms can still be seen on the keystones of the north and south chapels. Plundered during the French Revolution, the Saint-Maurice church was subsequently used as a grain market and then as a stable before becoming a place of worship again at the beginning of the 19th century. Notably, there is a 15th-century "trompe-l'œil" painting to the left of the choir. Source: Wikipedia, Franc
