A sprawling palace in the heart of New Delhi is home to the President of the world's largest democracy. Named the Rashtrapati Bhavan or 'Presidential Palace after India's independence. It serves as the official residence of the President, guests and diplomats from foreign countries. The complex also houses the famous Mughal Gardens. Sitting on acres of land, this building was designed by architect Herbert Baker and Edwin Lutyens for the residence of the Viceroy of India under the British Raj.
