Garbage bids adieu to the stretch of the road near AIIMS Hospital but for how long? Is this every day where ill-equipped men are collecting trash filled with microbes and toxic chemicals? A heavy-duty garbage truck leaves with the last lot of trash for the day but we are sure it will come back for more tomorrow. Rag pickers and sanitation workers segregate waste from a pull cart and a SDMC garbage lorry in Delhi. The waste is sorted as recyclable and non recyclable waste. The Ragpickers pick plastic bottles, cardboard boxes and other items which can be used for recycling. The sanitation workers do not have proper gear to protect them from the microbes and toxic substances in the garbage.
