The Leh Airport is also known as Kushok Bakula Rimpochee airport is one of the airports situated at the highest altitude in the entire world as it is located at an altitude of 3,256 m above sea level. It is a domestic airport named after the esteemed Kushok Bakula Rinpoche, whose 19th Incarnation was an important Indian and Ladakhi Statesman. The level of security at Leh airport is extremely critical due to the constant threats of terrorism from the adjoining regions of Jammu and Kashmir. Therefore passengers taking flights to Leh are not allowed to carry hand baggage. This airport is well connected with major cities in the country and provides a comfortable journey to the passengers.
