Moong daal chaat is a mild savoury snack made using sprouted legumes and gram flour vermecilli (sev) as base ingredients. Moong daal chaat is an extremely popular snack and makes a great evening tea-time snack ! Mung beans, or Vigna radiata, a warm-season legume native to India, are grown today in Asia, Africa, South America and the United States. You might best recognize mung beans as the bean sprouts served in salad bars and used in Asian cooking. Mung beans are grown as a commercial field crop mainly in Oklahoma and Missouri but are being tried in other states. They will grow in fields and gardens anyplace with a long growing season.
