A compilation on power generation and transmission in India, as well as fuel sources for power generation. While New Delhi blames a lot of its air pollution on motor vehicles and crop burning, did you know that most of our city's power comes from coal which is transported into the city by train-loads on a daily basis? India needs to transition to cleaner fuels and do this fast. Coal is hardly the most advisable or clean form of fuel for power generation! At a time that solar power rates are plummeting and we are trying to transition to electric vehicles, it is time we made efficient use of our solar grids and opted for other forms of renewables and non-conventional energy sources.
