The Bay of Bengal laps at the shores of the state of Orissa in eastern India - habitat of the Olive Ridley sea turtle that visits here to nest each year, in a mass arribada. One can see the dead and hollowed-out carcass of a dead turtle. The Arabian Sea is a region of the Indian Ocean bounded on the east by India, on the north by Pakistan and Iran, on the west by the Arabian Peninsula, on the south, approximately, by a line between Cape Guardafui in northeastern Somalia and Kanyakumari in India. Some of the ancient names of this body of water include Sindhu Sagar and Erythraean Sea.
