A Mising woman threshes paddy with her son in the harvesting season in Assam. Paddy cultivation is one of the primary occupations in Assam. The husk and paddy stalks are loaded to a wooden boat. "The Misings live in the fertile land at the banks of the mighty Brahmaputra especially in upper Assam districts especially in North Lakhimpur, Dhemaji, Dirugarh, Sivasagar, Jorhat and Golaghat districts of Assam. Misings are unique in their style of housing.
