A migrant labourer Ran Singh beaten to death at a factory in Amritsar, Punjab. Ram Singh was beaten with an iron rod by Jaspreet Singh, his employer, at the factory where he used to work. Singh later succumbed to injuries. Jaspreet had suspected Ram Singh of theft. A person at the site recorded the video. “I have no information of the incident. Let me check,” said Assistant labour commissioner Amritsar Vipan Pariar. When The Indian Express called him after more than an hour, he said, “I have checked with my sources. I have no knowledge of such an incident.” Jaspreet allegedly kidnapped Singh from his home on October 15. Later, his body was recovered from a road.
