Large number of people performs PT in the opening ceremony of Asian Athlectics Championship in 1989 held in India. Mass comes hoisting flags of saffron, white and green colour forming the Indian flag. A formation of "Bharatiyam" is also noticed, formed by the spectators who came to witness the grand opening ceremony of Asian Athletics Championship at Jawaharlal Nehu stadium in Delhi. The eighth Asian Championships in were held in 1989 in New Delhi, India.On the home soil and amidst the home crowd uproar, Indian athletes rose to the occasion and won 8 gold, 9 silver and 5 bronze medals.
