Shakti Singh has recently retired from the post of CISF Assistant Commander and is currently the sports officer in the Railways. Shakti Singh says "Respected Alok Kumar Pateria, ADG CISF, senior officers of CISF, PT Usha Ma'am, our sprint star Dutee Chand and all the athletes and media persons. Firstly, I am a member of the CISF family and worked with them for 10 years. Whatever, I have achieved in my life is because of CISF. When I joined CISF I was not an athlete, but then gradually I started ranking and eventually ranked 5th worldwide." The CISF came into existence in 1969 with a modest beginning, having three battalions, to provide integrated security cover to the Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) which, in those years, occupied the commanding heights of the economy.
