Jehangir Sabavala says "I think quite a lot, not the whole perhaps but quite a lot in his book because it is biographical and to that extent, I think what we've tried in the book. It is to have for once an art biography on an Indian painter. Not just a book where you turn one page after the other and you have nothing more than paintings. This deals with the whole life of the man in his position as he grew up within his society, within the country outside the country then back here." Jehangir Sabavala was born to an affluent Parsi family in Mumbai in 1922. He studied at the Cathedral and John Connon School, and later at Elphinstone College, Mumbai. He earned a diploma from Sir J.
