Bollywood director Vishal Bhardwaj talks about his film Omkara which is an adaptation from Shakespeare's Othello. The director goes into Shakespeare's writings as his inspiration and how he adapted the names of the characters are inspired by names he came across in his childhood in Meerut. Vishal Bhardwaj: The basic story of Othello really inspired me to make this film. And I think it was a great dramatic story and I think it needed to be told. Shakespeare's basic story or plot, all of that I have adapted. In between, I've used the dramatic dialogues as well and I am being fair to the spirit of the play, not line by line or page by page but the atmosphere and spirit of the play.
