Tourist and rescue helicopters fly into the Amarnath valley, to ferry pilgrims who wish to fly in as opposed to walking in, as was the tradition. Instant karma! Mahagunas Top at a height of around 4200 meter is the top most point of the Amarnath yatra. This is where Shiva is supposed to have left behind his son Lord Ganesh on his way to the holy Amarnath cave. We crossed this peak just before lunch on day 2 of the Amarnath yatra.
