We had gone to Mehboob Studio to meet Aamir Khan for some other work. After meeting Aamir, as we were coming out, Indra Kumar came in to meet him. Just as we were about to leave, Aamir stopped us and asked us to wait for two minutes. So we waited, and then he introduced us to Indra Kumar—that was our first meeting with Indu. During the conversation, we came to know that Indra Kumar was making a film with Aamir Khan as the hero, and the film’s title was Dil. Aamir told Indu to take music from us because we had already worked with him earlier in Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, which was a big hit. That’s how we met Indra Kumar. When Aamir introduced us, he told Indu ji to have one or two sittings with us. If he felt that he could work with us and that good work would come out of it, then he could go
