Soumitra Das talks about his family background in film making "I should start with my family background in cinema because there was great love for acting in our family, my father use to act in armature plays, my grandfather was a patron of histrionics, there was also an atmosphere of playmaking and acting, in the town we lived, its about 70miles from Calcutta, there were very few groups in the town who used to stage plays regularly which we were aware as children, but even before that in our house my father encouraged us to participate in those things..."
