Meitei Hindu priests perform Heijingpot rituals or pre-wedding rituals at a wedding ceremony in Manipur. HEIJINGPOT: On the day of Heijingpot, in the morning or afternoon, the groom's family along with relatives and guests visit the bride's family with fruit and food items (specially for the Bride and her friends). The bride's family invite their relatives and guests to be a part of this happy occasion. After the ceremony is over the bride serves her friends the various special food items brought from the groom's place which lasts till late evening. Bride's friends and relatives present her gifts.
