Picturesque drive across the Kolia Bhomora Setu, in Assam

Kolia Bhomora Setu is a pre-stressed concrete road bridge over the Brahmaputra River near Tezpur in Assam. It is named after the Ahom General Kolia Bhomora Phukan. This bridge connects Tezpur on the north bank with Nagaon District on the south bank. The length of this bridge is 3015 meters. The construction of the bridge took place from 1981 to 1987. On the way to Ziro from Guwahati via Nowgaon and Tezpur. The highway passes through the heart of Assam, crossing over the mighty Brahmaputra at Tezpur to the Northern banks. Passing by significant Assam towns of Lakhimpur, Gohpur and Banderduwa, it crosses into the Arunachal Pradesh border at Kimin.
