Artisans in Vasant Vihar, New Delhi, are making clay idols of Goddess Durga ahead of Durga Puja. Unfinished figures with multiple arms and lion mounts take shape over bamboo and straw frameworks. One artisan kneads and prepares clay by hand, while a woman smooths an idol’s surface using a tool. The work takes place in a simple open-air workshop covered with black tarpaulin. The footage captures the traditional idol-making process and the skilled handwork involved in preparing Durga idols for the festival.
