Band party sets joy to the wedding. A band of musicians from the groom's side is a must in every Manipuri wedding. The band plays music three times with 10-15 mins gaps in between, before the groom's party starts the short journey to the bride's house. The music can be of any film or album song or traditional folk music. The intelligent purpose for this is to announce the departure of the groom and also reminder to relatives and locality to get ready quickly. The band usually walks ahead of the entire groom's group.
