A deep bore well being dug by a government contractor for the SDMC in Delhi's Chhatarpur area. More ground water extraction and over utilization is leading to a steep fall in underground water resources across north India. We keep using up water resources without replenishing them. India is heading for not just an over ground water crisis, but an underground water crisis as well, with large tracts of areas having been hollowed out of their water resources. This will also lead to subsidence and further earthquake damage in the years to come, making multi storeyed building even more unstable over-ground.
