A range of vegetables on full display. You can spot almost all the vegetables common in India. This is like a show of the Indian palette in its virgin form. Potatoes, onions, cabbages, tori, pumpkins, lime, coriander, you name it. Try playing a game of spot the vegetable. Notice the thatched roofs of the market shed. This is not a common sight. This is a village wholesale market in Balam Tuli village in Odisha / Orissa. The market is open every Friday. Wholesale dealers and shoppers for household consumption can be seen roaming in between the market sheds filled in food. It is a sea of fresh produce, ripe and unripe bananas, lemon in huge amounts are on display. Surprisingly almost everyone has their own shopping carry-bag and no one is using single use polythene bags. The vegetable market
