Celebrating Chapchar Kut 2023, the principal spring festival of the Mizo community, in Mizoram, India. A live band and choir perform on a professionally designed outdoor stage decorated with floral arrangements, traditional Mizo patterns, and stage lighting beneath a large canopy. In front of the stage, a large crowd gathers in a circle, placing their hands on one another's shoulders and moving together in rhythm with the music. The venue includes tiered seating, white event canopies, and barricaded audience areas accommodating visitors of different age groups. Chapchar Kut is celebrated annually in March following the completion of forest clearing for jhum cultivation and features music, dance, cultural performances, and community participation.
