Vibrant and energetic atmosphere of the traditional Lathmar Holi celebrations in Nandgaon, where thousands of devotees, locals, and tourists gather in the narrow streets to celebrate one of India’s most iconic Holi festivals. Dense clouds of colorful gulal powder rise into the air as participants dance, sing, and smear colors on one another in a joyful display of devotion and celebration. The festival is deeply connected to the legends of Radha and Lord Krishna, where men from Nandgaon traditionally visit Barsana and are playfully greeted by women carrying wooden staffs known as laths. Colorful balloons hanging above the crowded streets, rooftop spectators, and the festive Braj atmosphere create a spectacular visual celebration unique to Uttar Pradesh’s Holi traditions.
