Urgelling Gonpa is a monastery located near Tawang town in Arunachal Pradesh and is the birthplace of the sixth Dalai Lama, who was born here in the year 1683. Today it generally remains bereft of people and even lamas as most of them live in the Gaden Namgyal Lhatse monastery in Tawang and visit Urgelling not so often.
