Ceropegia vincaefolia is a fast growing; twining species is a member of the not succulent representatives of its genus. It belongs to family Asclepiadaceae (Milkweed family).The leaves is quite large and heart-shaped. The flowers are similar to those of Ceropegia juncea, they stand in groups in an umbel, which arises from a conspicuously pinkish, hairy stalk. They are quite large; the flower-tube is of a plain light colour in the lower part, spotted purple in the upper part. The united petals are greenish in the lower half; heavily purple in the upper half. The people from the Pawara resp. Pawra tribe, which lives in the Nandurbar District of the state of Maharashtra, know the species under the name Khottya (Pawiri or Pawri) and consume its tubers as vegetable. It is known as Kandil Kharch
