There was a small crowd to greet Zubin Mehta on his arrival at the airport and the music maestro brought the Munich Philharmonic orchestra with him and knew the reason why he had come. 50 years ago the internationally famous music director who now resides in New York was very much a part of a different kind of celebration. Almost all countries have been commemorating 50 years of India's independence. Zubin Mehta says "I have come here to celebrate India's 50th anniversary. I feel great as I was one of the few people who were around in 1947, you guys weren't. I was there, I remember very well."
