Saurabh Shukla says "I used to stay in Delhi and I was doing theatre in NSD repertoire company where I was working as a paid artist. Shekhar Kapur came there for his movie Bandit Queen and he was casting actors from Delhi and I was cast in the movie for Kailash's character. After a year of Bandit Queen, Shekhar called me to Mumbai to be a part of an Indian serial called 'Tehkikaat'. That's how I came to Mumbai from Delhi. Since I started with theatre through which I got a platform to do almost everything. I am not only an actor or a writer but also a singer, all thanks to theatre. Since I was a play writer on stage and I have written many plays. So writing was always my interest but I never thought that I'll be a scriptwriter.
