The entire Gangotri valley comprises of unstable mountains that are constantly in churn, growing, changing and getting altered. Each monsoon, floods, landslides, rock-falls and other earth movements are a constant. During one visit, we were blocked by this landslide and had to wait for two days for the road to be cleared by the bulldozers that were working over-time, in challenging conditions!
