The woman eating Indian sweets with her husband has just been recently married, as can be seen from the chuda / chooda on her arm. These are bangles in red and white, and newly-married women in India wear them for a few months right after marriage, to signify their recently betrothed status! The man gives a shy smile of acknowledgement to the camera... Another couple playfully banter nearby and the girl gives her partner a mock slap and then shyly smiles and looks away, before first sharing her plate of chaat with him! Chandni Chowk originally meaning moonlit square or market, is one of the oldest and busiest markets in Old Delhi, now in central north Delhi, India.
