Prasanto Kumar Roy, editor PC Quest and computer at home speaks about the scanner. He says, "They use strip which has some kind of scanning device and that strip moves under the image, photo or paper so that could be a light beam which is directed to a recording device called recharge coupled devices it could be some other type of recording devices it could be a drum on which you have kept the images and there is a scanning light beam which moves across them or the drum itself moves in all cases there is a recording beam of light and that's recording the image transferring it to your computer and you are getting an image file in a standard format like tiff or jpeg.
