See a good old fashioned sewing machine in operation with a local darzi or tailor, in this case a blind-maker artisan. A local artisan in Meerut is stitching the fabric lining for bamboo chick blinds or curtains. Sitting beside a stand fan, the worker is filmed using a hand-operated sewing machine giving the final touches to the bamboo blind. Notice that both waterproof material plastic and fabric are used according to the uses of the curtain. Bamboo Chick or Bamboo blinds are mostly used in balconies or in windows. Apart from the synthetic material fabric, organic bamboos are woven for the main structure of the blind. Can alternate ways be found to make it a truly eco-friendly product?
