What fun to see the sheep scatter when they come across a car around the bend, as they are herded from Batagad bazaar down the Jabbarkhet road, towards Musoorie on the lower bypass road. A brilliant sunrise precedes the departure of the sheep flocks from the outer ranges of the Himalaya to the inner ranges near Shankri and Taluka en route the Govind Pashu Vihar, Manju Kanda Pass and the mountains around Naitwar in the lower valleys, going up to the higher passes, for the summer pasture grazing of the sheep. Note the Bhutia or Himalayan sheep dog herding the sheep along, as they are moved en masse by the shepherds.
