Red-wattled Lapwings roaming with their dainty yellow legs and displaying the red wattles on their face. The adults look alert as they forage around the dry surrounding which is close to their nesting area. They are ground nesters and feed on insects and worms. They help in keeping the surroundings free of harmful insects but urbanisation seems to be takings its toll on their nesting grounds and the use of pesticides have also affected their food system.
