Garbage collectors and rag pickers sort trash with bare hands at a garbage collection site in South Delhi. With no protective gear, the workers sort the trash collected from different localities using shoal. By the end of a shift, half a dozen garbage collecting bins of SDMC are full which will then be transported to the disposal site. Sorting garbage exposes the workers to toxic chemicals and microbes but looks like we are not paying much attention to the workers keeping the city functioning.
