The NDMC (New Delhi Municipal Corporation) or SDMC (South Delhi Municipal Corporation) top up water resources for South Delhi residents when there is a shortage and pipeline supplies are either inadequate and the under-served do not have access to piped water. Women and children rush in with all and sundry shapes and sizes of containers to fill and take them home! Of course, half the precious water is wasted and splattered all over the road. Even in times of need, so much water gets wasted due to the rush and everyone's greed and need coming together at once...
