The modern Indian Muslim population lives with a great degree of religious freedom and while India has around 180 million Muslims, so does Pakistan. One tends to forget that India too is a major world Muslim nation! The population milling around and waiting for the occasion of Eid to start is mobile, connected and diverse in their own way. Islam is the second most practiced religion in India and Eid-ul-fitr is the second biggest festival (after Eid ul adha or Bakr Eid) of the followers of Islam around the world.
