Chief Naval Staff admiral R K Dhowan on board INS Sumitra during International Fleet Review in Visakhapatnam. INS Sumitra is the fourth and last Saryu class patrol vessel of the Indian Navy, designed and constructed by Goa Shipyard Limited. It is the presidential yacht of India. It is designed to undertake fleet support operations, coastal and offshore patrolling, ocean surveillance and monitoring of sea lines of communications and offshore assets and escort duties. Admiral Rabinder "Robin" Kumar Dhowan PVSM, AVSM, YSM, ADC is the 22nd and current Chief of Naval Staff of the Indian Navy. He assumed office on 17 April 2014, succeeding Admiral D.K. Joshi.
