This is not the Mullingar from the county town of County Westmeath in Ireland but it certainly takes its name from there! It is the very first house built in Mussoorie, in 1823. Built by Capt. Young of the Sirmour Rifles regiment, it is now a run-down old building - an apology for its glorious past. Hundreds of tenants now live in what was once a grand hotel. They reportedly no more pay rent and the owner perhaps lives in Bombay with no hope of getting back the once-fabulous property. No one spends on its upkeep and it goes downhill with each year. Doma's Inn is run and managed by Momo, a local Tibetan resident and his Sikkimese-born Tibetan wife. Ruskin Bond lives at one end of the building and Mumbai filmmaker-director Vishal Bharadwaj at the other end. This footage is part of the profes
