A robust looking Gilheri is filmed at our Wilderness Orchard in Delhi foraging among dried leaves. The squirrel is seen munching on fallen fruit. Face forward towards the camera, the squirrel has a healthy tuft of hair on its tail. Alerted by bird calls the squirrel leaps for the tree nearby. Five-striped Northern Palm Squirrels or Funanbulus pennantii are common in public parks and in tall fruit-bearing trees in urban areas. These rodents feed on fruits, nuts and even discarded human food.
