India is a country of cultural diversity and religious unity. Muharram is observed by the Islamic people. Hundreds of Islamic people gather to celebrate Muharram beating drums and wearing caps. Men and women alike walk in the processions. children can be seen observing the procession from the terrace of their houses They are seen carrying the tazias in order to mourn the death of Ḥusayn Ibn Ali and other martyrs who died fighting in the battle of Karbala. The Mourning of Muharram (or Remembrance of Muharram or Muharram Observances) is a set of rituals associated with both Shia and Sunni Islam.
